"When we liquidate furniture, fixtures and equipment for our clients via online auction at RestaurantEquipment.bid, we make sure they're getting the highest return on investment possible. A major part of our strategy to accomplish that is earning media coverage to drive interest in the auctions and ultimately increase profits. The TGI Fridays restaurant on Erwin Road across from Duke University Medical Center in Durham has closed, and an auction company has been hired to liquidate all of its furniture, fixtures and equipment.

All starting prices for the restaurant items – big and small – are just $1 with no set reserve price, according to Max Wipperman with RestaurantEquipment.bid.

“Depending on how competitive the auction gets, winning bidders could walk away with professional-grade kitchen equipment for pennies on the dollar,” he says.

TGI Fridays officially closed the Durham restaurant July 24.

It had been among the first retail tenants to open in 2007 at the Pavilion East building that’s now part of The Exchange on Erwin mixed-use complex at 2608 Erwin Road. Other retail tenants include Chipotle, Dunkin' Donuts, Firehouse Subs, UPS Store and Another Broken Egg Café.

The online auction for the TGI Fridays is live and ends Aug. 15 at 10 a.m. All items will be sold as is, and the buyer is responsible for item collection at the Durham restaurant site.
